Hold it together for one more day
I'll wake up tomorrow and see
If this situation doesn't hurt you at all
Then why should it hurt me?
I think that I have been declining for months
But there's only so much pride I can lose
And if you think I'll be happy to see you
No, I won't be enthused
I'm tired from being torn down by who you are
You've got everything and nothing I can give
Sure I can't afford anything
But I can teach you how to live
But that doesn't matter,
Your heart beats fine after all
And when I go to sleep tonight
I won't be expecting a call

I like the word choice in this poem, which you know is rare. I like the little bit of tension that comes with it along with the sense of peace.
