under the suffocating weight
of centuries piling memories
upon my waters
have I watched, biding time
leeching away the tears
of humanity, saving
these precious drops
for the river
undulating its way through
a vast world unseen by the living
building tear by tear
this immense stream
it is mine by right of construction
when a soul is released
from its fleshly prison
silently do I carry that
spiritual cargo
over the waves
accepting as my pay
two coins
my time to step from the deck
onto the shore
will never come...

Wow! Such depth with this one and showing the strife of a life one might have... I love the wording here and the deep message behind your words that at first glanced seemed simple but became very meaningful right after the first lines, building up this emotional meaning to the end... Wuah I like this one a lot! Wonderful work!
