when a woman is in labour,
she has achieved life I believe
with the cycle complete
and the pain endured,
a beautiful life comes out
if she is a girl,
pink would be
her favourite colour
playing around in swings
and Barbie dolls
all day long
but the mother
so carefully
knows when to stop
her little tot
from going overboard
then, adolescense hits
and challenges appear
rebelliousness has a whole new meaning
mothers find it very difficult-
their little child
seems to have
"grown up so fast"
nothing seems right
and days are spent in misey and tears
wondering about her dear child
she gets married
and gets a family of her own
finally understanding
all the pain she's given
she can't control her little ones
and asks her mum for help
but not before hugging
and kissing her on the cheek
showing her appreciation
she grows up
to be a Grandmother
and tells of a superhero
(her mum)
to her own children
telling them to never stop loving
their children
and to sacrifice their lives
to see a better child
on her wedding day

Interesting take on how you define a woman- how you focused on her changing role as it related to the other women around her. Throughout the poem, I felt that there was a lack of flow- When I read this outloud, it sounded a little choppy. Maybe some puctuation to show where pauses and breaks should be would help? I liked the 2nd stanza- bringing in the color pink. Good job- thanks for entering

WOW..
I never expected you to write such a mature piece.
It was so real, like as if you really went through this phase
Hope you win something with this, because to me, this poem's a winner
