People ask me all the time,
“why don’t you just grow out of it?”
I simply shake my head,
And merely smile.

I will answer your question,
This one and only time,
So hear me clearly,
And don’t speak.

I am Goth, be cause Goth is me.
Its an extension of my personality.
Its an extension of my interests.
Its an extension of myself.

You have your country, Cowboy.
You have your designers, preppie.
You have your skate parks, skater.
You have your sports, jock.

So why can’t I have my clothes and music?
It would be like taking away your personality,
You wouldn’t be whole without it.
It would be the same for me.

So you play with your horses,
I play my Dark wave and chains.
You wear your prada to school,
I wear my platform boots.

So please before you strip me down,
Consider this for a moment.
Isn’t the world filled with difference?
Why can’t I just express myself freely?

So before you try to make me coincide,
I am one of the differences in the world.
As you are different from your group of friends.
Everyone’s a weirdo, some just hide it better.

My life is my choice,
I chose the Gothic lifestyle.
Just as riding horses, sports, and skateboarding
Is your own way of life
You take away goth,
You take away apart of me.
Same goes for your lifestyles,
