Once a strong and powerful tune
the tree of life sang for mankind
to light and love did it respond
as passionately hymns were hummed.
Tall and proud the chorus rang
throughout the world the melody strummed
all grew within harmony's epiphany
dancing as one under the shade of life.
But slowly did shadows descend
mistrust and arrogance stole accord
as notes became dischordant dissonance
what once was rich becomes resounding tumult.
This tree of life strum's death's dirge
cadaverous refrains chant across the skies
arms once all encompassing now do wither
as psalms of despair destroy all essence.

Wuah I love this one! You did great portraying the picture to it's fullest potential! The tree of life growing strong with all humankind in peace, and then slowly withering away in the strings of fate... This is such a truthful and up to date subject that it seen throughout this world. It seems the songs the tree of life ones song is becoming more drastic by the day and it's a shame in such a beautiful world.
You did a wonderful work with this one, showing us this tree of life with such beautiful, yet deep words you chose well. This poem made me think and that's one of the best things about poems like this. Making people think.
