The Bumblebee Ball

We’re invited to the Bumblebee Ball,
Be sure to come, one and all.
The Queen will be upon her throne,
And the attendants will be her drones.

Our honored guests are the Bumblebees,
It will be a great event, it’s the bee’s knees.
With plenty of pollen to go around,
The event is the buzz of the whole town.

Dean and Dot Dauber will attend this gala affair,
They really are a rather odd pair.
Talking about how they get their mud mixed,
And how to any surface they can get it fixed.

Will and Wy Wasp always return their RSVP,
Inside a paper nest for all to see.
Their cousins, the Yellow Jackets, this year are new,
So the Wasps will need a table for four not two.

Next, are the Hornets Harry and Hillary,
They are always proud, proud as can be.
With their big bodies all bright red,
Their size and color has gone to their head.

Some come just to put on a show,
Others come because it’s a place to go.
But all will attend this event for sure,
Because the Bumblebees deserve the honor.

While Honey Bees danced a figure eight pattern,
The others drank honey from a honey urn.
When the entertainment was over,
They had drank the best honey, made from clover.

Now it was time for the final coup d’etat,
The event that held everyone in awe.
They would all witness the flight of the Bumblebee,
Since Bumblebees aren’t able to fly, experts agree.

With a body that’s to big and wings far to small,
They shouldn’t be able to get off the ground at all.
Yet, against all odds they fly anyway,
No matter what the experts have to say.

So the Bumblebee Ball was the event of the year,
As all of the guests stood up to cheer,
The gravity defying Bumblebee’s flight,
It was truly a miraculous sight.
