Floating eyes shut
warm waters carry us,
daring dreams eyes open
sullen shadows beneath the sun;
adrift upon shimmering calm
water holds us.
For day creeps beneath surface
of a world grown stale,
water has abandoned wasteful man
seas move ever away from shifting shores,
and sands chase the tides.
For day will not stay quiet, hunger
rules, and conflict follows the raging shores
ever onward. Men marked by givers
of food and water,for obedience and survival.
To open eyes or dream shuttered places
the world has become a dry and hungry place
and calm blue shimmering waters
hold us so safely and warmly;
only in our dreams.

I like this one a lot. Warm water holding us from the cold cround... I like how this poem describes how this world is getting. A dry and hungry place that doesn't offer much warmth to those living in this changing world. But you still were able to build up a spark of hope in the form of water, that has always been dear to me. I love the ocean and couldn't stay away from water for that long so this one spoke to me greatly.
Beautiful, beautiful work with this one!
