If I could I'd take your pain
and bear it on my back,
I'd carry it one million miles
along the darkest paths,
I'd even cry the great Red Sea,
if it would suffice...
To take away that heavy pain,
I'd gladly pay the price.
I wish that I was suffering,
so I could take your place.
You could give it all to me
I'd bear the bitter taste.
This is what I'd gladly do,
I'd do it to the end,
no matter what you need from me,
It's yours, my precious friend.

Is not the greatest commandment to Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and the second like unto it -- love thy neighbor as thyself?
I express that sentiment with this poem, although I am not saying it should discount the most important element, and that would be faith, by which we are saved and most certainly by which he can be healed should that be according to our Lord's infinite plan.
