Sand Drifter

I am the lone tumbleweed,
that danced with the wind.

There were no flowers
or waters run deep.

Immobile,
with my back
against a lonely cactus flower,

a wasteland-

is still,
all I see.

man, such a lonely feeling to this poem... as is meant... and I have leaned up against a cactus a time or two myself.

AsI know you only too well, your poems are always a wonderful, but poignant metaphor of yourself. Reading this makes me want to cry. You have plucked a heart string and that is a sign of a poet who should publish! Best wishes in this contest!

I enjoy your imagery greatly. This is a good poem, but the title is questionable.
