Some say there is a black hole
widening widening
to let the earth through
like preparation
for gape-mouthed swallow
Perhaps just perhaps
it opens like O of shock
to allow angels through to minister
to bone-broken fetal curl
of Mother who is being eaten
by unborn, long overdue, expulsion
I feel its suction and push
of shapes and shards left
as ground is shifted
to hide another dropped bomb
by magic by miracle
subtle wash of spirit’s ebb and flow
prior to the flood
and in the hand that held me
while my heated world fell
out from under my feet

Now this is the kind of astounding entry I was hoping for when I thought up the contest! Your ideas could take my thoughts in a million different directions; this poem deserves to be read a lot more than one time but for now it's going in the finalists list!

I find myself reading this poem again and again ... simply because at every read, the subtle reality penetrates deeper and deeper ... I am amazed at how you are able to speak about the almost intangible subtility of the dissolving of the concept of "ego" into emptiness (this is what your poem inspired me) - with so much substantiality ...
I have realized that men have a great gift to speak about this subject in a more conceptual and abstract way (in the sense of focusing on pure consciousness), while women have the talent to make this truth more tangible through concrete experiences (embracing the aspect of energy) ...
thank you for an amazing poem that touched me very much in my beingness ...

I sometimes feel a presence, a warm, guiding presence! My brother died in 2004 of an overdose, he was only 49. He used to carry me home in my drinking days, singing "he aint Heavy, He's my Brother"
Now I feel his presence at times, guiding me... crazy, huh?
...Sighhh. I didn't mean to get off track, but your poemsy got me thinkin' of him. Anyways, it was a warm feeling, like this Poem...
"I feel its suction and push
of shapes and shards left
as ground is shifted
to hide another dropped bomb
by magic by miracle
subtle wash of spirit’s ebb and flow
prior to the flood
and in the hand that held me
while my heated world fell
out from under my feet"
