His Son--edited

His overflowing eyes plead with you,
as you stare blankly at his young face.
He reluctantly sheds the tears of a child,
as he tries to conceal the rage of a man.

His words fall wayside, no emittance of sound,
lucid stillness engulfs the room which he stands.
Searching your face, seeking understanding, knowledge,
he finds a hollow man, lost, he looks to the floor.

There is love in his eyes, pain in his heart,
he desperately needs you to reach out to him!
He rises, shaking his head, you do nothing,
reconfirming his feelings of insignificance.

He cries himself to sleep, dreaming of the man,
the father he once knew, now just a mere memory
A young boy no longer living the life of a child,
exposed to the harsh realities of truth, adulthood.

Weakness dissolving dreams, dreams giving solace,
addiction stealing life, living offering promise.
Twisted realities that offer complexities, hope,
survival found in the eyes of a child, his son.

    Beautiful!

Awwww my dear this is so moving. The terrible burden placed upon the mother in this, for she sees the horrible pain her son is feeling, sees the destruction of his innocence by the man he most looked up to in life. See life smack down another gleaming soul into the muck of reality. Now the burden resolves to the mother to once more ignite his glowing spark.
Very well done and so full of emotion, Congrats on the HM.

Powerful write. Vey good. I liked the fact that this didn't rhyme too much, but there were slight touches of half rhyme or less, I don't know if they were intentional or not but I think this along with the subject of course made this a touching read.

WOW! I see nothing wrong with this write at all. It is pure and from the heart...truthfully sis, I have cills and tears in my eyes...I had to pause in the middle to be able to continue reading it.
Such sad reality you have wrote for so many young men of today...so deperately seeking approval from a man know as the father...yet does not even know how to be a Dad.
My heart ache as I feel you words and the hurt of your son...for I have seen it in my own sons eyes...and it is heartbreaking.
And we look at the men we once loved and wonder where they went or if they were ever even there to started with...and we want to shake them, screaming open your eyes...see his love, feel his pain, just give him some hope any hope, but something...You selfish BASTARD!
Than they wonder why their children become angry and get into trouble, looking to blame you and ask you simply "what is wrong with him!"
You wrote of the pain of a child so heartfelt for I know you feel his pain too.
Bless you and the boys...may they some day find peace.

    Love to you!
    sis
