letting go...

Realization is a beginning,
like pursing lips before whistling,
acceptance might be next, facing
facts, without sidestepping the issue;
then the difficult one, letting go.

Compassion for wrongs is not an obligation
or a right, and only God makes it easy.
Letting one's heart become light after burdens,
is really just a beginning, forgiveness
brings unrelenting love and a fitful memory.

    This is heartfelt and very true. Your words seep into my spirit and make me know that there is nothing that has been wronged that cannot stand to be righted. (is that a word?)

    The rationale or driving force of forgiveness is to do unto ones-self what we expect those we love to do unto us. How can I expect to be forgiven if it is such a task for me to forgive myself? I do know that words expressed in the heat of anger always come from the spirit with venom. That is my sorrow. The fact that I know a thing, and still act it out is something that makes me stand beside myself in wonder.

    Thank you for these wise words. They make me want so desperately to put this all in the rears. I wish you the best in this contest my friend. Your words are thrust forth from a caring heart.

    Much Love Always ♥

    Deep sentiments expressed here, the promise of absolution bringing renewed love but not the erasure of memory, beautifully written, and good luck in the contest!
