(from ON THE ROAD, AGAIN coming in 2008 or sooner!)
Vince hugged Uncle Billy,
and Little Willy, too,
along with Aunt Matilda,
And her 'coon dog, Blue.
Jedidire and Jerimire,
Jacob, Jack, and James,
were playing TAG with Endless Bliss,
who couldn't spell their names.
GrandPa burned his britches,
too close to the flame,
while making moonshine whiskey,
and Granny was to blame -
for she had been playing,
an old, Hillbilly game,
a huggin and a kissin,
without remorse or shame.
Dillon was with Little Legs,
who didn't run away,
for he was her Romeo,
and that's all that I will say.
Lily played her banjo,
sitting on a swing.
"SHE'LL BE COMIN ROUND THE MOUNTAIN",
I heard the children sing.
Cara Lou was with her,
finger pickin her guitar,
Dionte had a grasshopper,
jitterbugging in a jar.
Possum stew and turnips,
grits and collard greens,
is what we had for supper,
along with hot, baked beans.
Our bellies full - we took a nap,
Bea baked a rhubarb pie,
that had her kin a singin,
in the good old, by and by.

I'm not sure I could spell those names if i'd had as many drinks as Grandpa, and Granny is a game old bird isn't she? good on her lol If women have to be blamed for something it may as well be something fun. Even Littlelegs is learning!
Apart from the banjo I can do a mean harmonica for a hill billy dance though I'm not overly enamoured to the menu at this party. Possom stew? What does possom taste like? The first time I tasted grits I wondered what the point was, the second time I was even less enthusiastic and after the third time I gave up. Rhubarb pie is not a favourite but turnips, greens and baked beans are ok. Bring back the chocolate cake
