Angels with broken wings

To whom it may concern

Wilted buds need tender loving care
Dare not torture or torment them
Don’t tear their gashes but repair
Hold them gently from their stems

Don’t acquaint pack of lies and despair
Confer hope to the deprived Gems
Revolting behaviour none will bear
Appalling brutality humanity Condemns

Wrap them in cotton wool and wipe tears
They are angels that have broken wings
Talk with mellow not in words like spears
Whole-hearted devotion will bring spring

Stimulate sweetness in their sour lives
When fate casts miracle; inert soul thrives.

Author notes

I was inspired by “LivingInDisguise” Hope you like it.
Thank you Shuvi for giving me oppurtunity to be part of this chain...

Dear Prime Minister Kostunica:
I am writing to urge your government to take immediate action to end human rights abuses against children and adults in Serbian orphanages and other institutions. The human rights violations described by Mental Disability Rights International (MDRI) should not be tolerated in any country. Every child or adult with a disability is important. They deserve proper medical care and a chance to lead a good and normal life outside of an institution.

I am asking that you please fulfill the promise of your policies by protecting the human rights of the thousands in institutions in Serbia.

Yours Sincerely,

mina nagi

I think that you can make alot of people stand up and take notice of what is going on there. So sad the way they are treated and so heartbreaking that they have to suffer in that way. They deserve their own human rights and dignity.I like the choice of your title and maybe I am hoping this will make a huge differance.

Ah, you have one too! I read about this at Peteskid page and almost couldn't believe. How cruel can people be and treat other human beings...
The world must indeed wake up for such horrible practices and do something to end them.
I'm glad to see you are part of this protest

    Priceless

Mina ,this poem touches the heart with all it's essence,'Wilted buds ','deprived Gems','angels that have broken wings'-powerful expressions that nail home the subject matter-'need tender loving care','repair','Hold them gently ','Confer hope','wipe tears','Talk with mellow '-so true, all this and more is required to soothe out ,heal and balm these broken winged angels-'Whole-hearted devotion will bring spring'-devotion always brings spring bringing with it colour and life-'When fate casts miracle; inert soul thrives'-this line leaves me smiling-Mina, you have dealt with a sensitive topic with such deep feelings -you have not evoked pity but sympathy and empathy with this poem of yours -A brilliant job done !
