A Shiny Christmas

Holly strung with silver tassels
joys of christmas mid the hassels.
Toss silver coins in kettles red,
the less fortunate can be fed.

Bethlehem one past December
a silver star to remember.
On the branches tinsel glisten,
to the silver bells we listen.

Dangling balls from silver hooks,
silver sprinkles in cookie nooks.
Angel high perched top the tree,
her silver wings so shiny.

Silver foil adorns the gifts,
sunlight shimmer upon snow drifts.
Candlesticks of silver on table,
garland hung beneath the gable.

Silver bows makes holidays bright,
reflection seen in christmas lights.
With silver mixed with red and green,
the joys of christmas can be seen.

Ooh, I like this one. Definitley the more serene side of the holiday. You play upon silver and make it even more prominent than red or green in this... I know 'tis what I asked for, but you make it seem like the msot important color of the season. VERY nice job.
One thing that bugged me...a few lines didn't share the same syllable count as the tempo I was getting in my head from the rest of the poem...maybe I'm reading it differently than you intended, I understand that that happens a lot.
thank you so much for entering, and best of luck in the competition/contest/thing-a-ma-bob-a-jig!
