Tangerine clouds
displace a well
thought out truth.
Now all that's left
is a busy-bodied
collection of crayons
begging to add meaning
to long forgotten colours.
So paint the world
in a candy coating,
and hope that harsh edges
will remain a fringe idea
in our new reality.
And here's to a
tune best remembered
under moonlight,
when all our shadows need
to be shuffled wayward.

I loved
"Now all that's left

collection of crayons
begging to add meaning
to long forgotten colours."
very nicely done...great imagery
thanks for entering! -
This vision pulls at the inner child to join the hands on the crayons and keep the world in tune with a simpler life. Keep the threat of adults at bay.
Nicely done.

Wow! Your words add a fresh meaning to this picture but even without the pic this poem stands. My favorite part is "So paint the world/in a candy coating." Good job!

this did the picture justice [I looked it up]It is most definitely abstract and even somewhat eclectic. The use of crayons lends itself well to poetry I believe { I have referred to them a couple of times myself]. Good job and best wishes in the contest,
