a Mortal's response

"For
every
mortal,
Life
can only
shave
its
face once"  -Michael Lachney

Then as the severed fall to Earth,
let the razor leave its mark,
so as to feed the soil
with the hopes that something grows.

For I am just a child
in this Living World,
with roots and leaves,

a mindless beast who still believes
that we can still live wild.

Author notes

This was a section of a poetic conversation I had online wuth someone I've never met. We simply conversed in poetic verse and went back and forth to come up with some of my most inspired work.

Now this is different. A wonderful read short and to the point. I like the fact that it would have still made sense without the quote. Love the last two lines in this poem. They pack a punch like you would not believe. I think it's a wonderful piece that will be considered in judging. Thanks for entering my contest.
