Chance Dance

Leaves, dust and sand
roll in the breeze.
One feather catches the wind
and circles
round
and round
over blade and mite.
Swirling
and singing
and then there are two.
Side by side,
bowing
and dipping.
The trees are playing
violins
and the branches,
flutes.
Steadily onward they roam
in the afternoon rift.
Two
dancing
feathers.
