but for what?
she said she could break this crystal glass prison I was locked in
but why would I want to escape
this adiction of mine was an anathema to her
I couldn't understand it
not really
to me it was an offering to the gods of decline
and decline was what all great empires fell into
like ashes the fire still burned
and like fire it warmed me
kept me numbed against pain and sorrow
she said it didn't matter
but it did
to me
so really
it doesn't matter what
