If only I could pretend to love you
but how can I pretend what isn't real
If only I was willing to make it work
we would be happy together forever
(or so the story says)
Have you ever wondered why
there are so many love stories?
Simply because love sounds much better when it's to good to be true,
and it makes candy covered hearts and romance cards easier to sell.
People don't really love or want to be loved
they want to be showered with gifts and attention
Diamonds, chocolate, roses
none of it matters
And when the roses die,
so will the cliche of love
For afterall, how could it survive
when diamonds are a girls best friend?
