Light In Your Eyes

Let morning sunrise shine in your eyes
A light to reflect upon every one you meet
Upon every thing you say and do
The shining light of armor will be you

The air you breathe, each breath you take
The path you walk, what life you make
Forever footsteps leave a print each day
So give a smile to who pass your way

Let your heart open as a flower in spring
Appreciate, see what kind deeds bring
Forgive and forget least it cost you
Though it is something money can't do

Each day we go on is a gift of life
When duty calls and work at hand
Deligently take you time while you can
With patient and virtue you will stand

Enjoy your daily bread
And what each day brings
Fruit of joy, beauty of life, and children
And all the greatness of good things

Author notes

The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life. ~Robert Louis Stevenson

    creative.

"The shining light of armor will be you" the end of this sentence threw me for a loop. This was a very light, almost inspirational read. I think the narrative could be more influenced by the emotion that is placed within the lines. The format supports this element very well, the read was very smooth and collected. The readers pick up the message clearly, I do like the descriptive quality found within this item. That was a treat! Overall this was a creative poem, I think in the end that this worked well. Grim

This was just a delight to read. Enforced with some really good thought provoking positivity penned to perfection within this poetry prose.

There is only one thing I'd like to mention. There is a typo 6th line from the bottom going up you have Deligently when it's diligently. That's the only thing I see.

All the best in the contest

Very well written piece of truth and morals.
We could all learn a thing or two from this one.
    One thing though:

So give a smile to who pass your way >>grammar use

Also, I found the erratic rhyme scheme a bit confusing here. You started out using the same rhyme structure, but then towards the end it became erratic. Was that intentional?

    Keep penning,
