Her world was reflected perfectly in my eyes
Everything she wanted to be
Was me
Always looking up to me
Never to anyone else
But her dreams shattered
As I moved away
She would sit by her window
And cry all day
She would eat nothing
And say nothing
She was malnourished
And people would worry
They took her to a hospital right after school
Then a psychologist
But nothing would work
I came home
Worried
And everything changed
The light came back to her eyes
The ribs that were showing
Were now concealed
She said we hadn't needed worry
She just wanted me home
But I told her that I had to leave
That I couldn't stay
I must say good-bye
Until Thanksgiving Day
But it was too late
Her eyes were dull again
And the next day
She had disappeared
All were sad
When she looked down
She saw all that missed her
Her mother, father, sister and friends
If only I had stayed,
But I could not

This poem is a little, how do I put it, it's not gruesome, but thats what I want to call it. It reminds me of how this friend I have writes. But shes really great..check her out at Wraths Little Girl...
