I cannot look upon your face
so ugly and twisted
yet I long
for just one touch.
I know where it is you
lead me
into the darkness among
knarled branches and nothgingness.
Your countanance so horrid,
but your voice...
leads me, like a siren
hidden in the waves.
Only it is not into the depths
you take me,
but to a place...
much more sinister.
You hide behind a veil
of a loving guardian
an angel sent
from above.
I cannot bear to look
at your face
the lantern I bear
casts it into shadow.
All the better I do
not witness the
empty sockets and sharpened
fangs that will soon have my flesh.
My angel, your voice,
it haunts my dreams,
and though you are the nightmare,
I cannot turn away.

I like this entry. It has a tone of hopeless allure, very nice. Thank you for entering and best of luck to you in the contest.
