Some people wait for the mailman
I am one of those people
Some people wait for their birthday to come every year
I am one of those people
Some people just sit and wait for the world to change
I am not one of those people
I don't wait; I change
It doesn't matter what I do:
Simple random acts of kindness,
Working a little harder in school,
and smiling.
Hate to sound cliché, but a smile is contagious.
When you smile, I smile, and they smile.
Little things like this change the world,
Something, I'm sure, everyone is waiting for.
Some people wait for their favorite TV show to come on
I am one of those people
Some people wait for the air conditioner to work after just turning it on
I am one of those people
Some people just sit in a chair by the crackling fire, waiting for something better to come
I am not of those people
I strive for something more
I work, I run, I crawl, I scratch, I succeed
I want something better to come
My only hope for other people is that they put out the crackling fire and leave the chair and they reach for what they want
Being one of those people is great.
