Fractured Persona...

Too much drugs and alcohol
in time will rot your soul.
Too much shit has come between us,
my heart is growing cold.
I know each day when I’m alone,
it’s too easy to get stoned.
I’m looking for a reason
to live the life I own.

Self-pretentious pricks and fools,
feel joy to bring you down.
They laugh and kick you at your low,
to them you’re just a clown.
My sweet pierro wipe your tear,
you’re not alone when you feel fear.
Someone always loves you,
the way is never clear.

Fractured persona,
makes me a loner.
Fractured persona,
can you see my mind?

    Excellent

Wow, well done to you and everyone else involved. The lyrics were great, as was the overall message and presentation. Congratulations on your gold. Well deserved, for heart and commitment especially. Nicely done.

    David.

This actually touched on something very close to home with me. It literally caused me to burst into tears. I've seen so many ruined that could have been healed by shutting them away, doping them up and leaving them to rot as insane. Of course your song speaks of so much more to me as well, but the whole presentation here is splendid and I love the song as well. Take a well deserved bow. Not much moves me to tears and you've done it. Bravo!

This is amazing....it reaches out and feeds all the senses. Hauntingly beautiful....so compelling in its truth and naked vulnerability.

    wise, wise poem!

vivid and real....thankyou for writing it fearlessly
    and bold.
I have a friend...who walked on the yellow brick road
listening to those foolish fellow's believing all they
charmingly told....with one foot in reality and the other
collapsing blood veins mightily, he boldly asks as if I
    am an Ozzie Wizard;
give me one damn good reason to live through all this
pain....for I have no home, and not even Ruby Red
Slippers will forgive all that I have done.

Perhaps that's why he's sitting now in jail with a
$100,000 bond, for the second time...a poet who loves
John Lennon and believed in Yellow Brick Souls.

    ears/Seattle
    thankyou for your poem!
may I send it to him?

And please do send it to him...
Also send him a link to this page or www.myspace.com/fracturedpersona so he can listen to the song in its entirety, it won't disappoint. Maybe my ego talking (Lol!) but I was pleased with the finished production.
      Many thanks,
      Take care,

I just love the deep rawness and humanity here. Drugs and alcohol are never a solution. Although they may appear to provide temporary relief, and many who suffer from mental illnessess, turn to drugs and alcohol for that purpose, it only robs them of their health, soul and who they are - inevitably. I am not being judgemental; I speak from experience from myself and people I know and love.

    I so related to that second stanza;

"Self-pretentious pricks and fools, feel joy to bring you down.
They laugh and kick you at your low, to them you’re just a clown.
My sweet pierro wipe your tear, you’re not alone when you feel fear.
Someone always loves you, the way is never clear."

They are "self-pretentious pricks and fools" - those who judge and have never been in the other person's shoes. I am sick of them too; but I try not to get angry anymore. It triggers my fibromyalgia. lol's.

Ignorance is the worst sin in this world. Those pretentious fools and pricks operate from just that; a place of total ignorance and therefore, darkness that they are creating for themselves.

I have felt like a clown too. A sad clown; that people jeer and joke about. I don't care anymore. I know that it is out of their pathetic ignorance.

I thought this part was so very dear and compassionate; as well as redeeming -

"My sweet pierro wipe your tear, you’re not alone when you feel fear.
Someone always loves you, the way is never clear."

So reflective of your kindness and compassion; and your wisdom. Very integrating!

Thank you for sharing with us!

Excellent! A professional presentation of The Word. It's thought provoking and informative with a catchy hook line that is a joy, fractured personna, I like very much,so nice to hear lyrics with a good command of the English language too.
Those with physical fractures to limbs are instantly recognized as being injured but those with fractured minds are not recognized at all until they do not fit into society and the worst thing is they themselves are unaware of why.
Three well deserved rounds of applause.
