"I have traveled the darkest of roads, and the light I see is like a beacon in the night."
Some of us wander this world, forever engulfed in the darkness
that is spawned from within, covering us,
wrapping us all in a thick blanket of welcoming ebony sheets.
To ones such as I, the darkness is our only friend.
Even though we may have many others that call us friend,
a true friend is someone who is there, who has traveled the loneliest,
most desolate, the darkest of roads, and stayed by our side.
And then, we see a glimmer of light sparkle,
a faint shimmering that I see, glinting with hope upon my life's path.
And like that light I see, it is like a beacon lighting my way,
illuminating the darkness in the night, showing me the path.
The light is my guide, my wisdom, my friends.
Thank you Amera, for illuminating my night with the light of this writing style, it's amazing.

Wow, I think this is an incredible poem and so relevant to what i am going through right now. I feel like Iam on a dark road with no hope of light because I have no friends to be my light. I think you should have placed in the contest with a higher trophy value. -

Oh I love dark poems to start with and this is one of the best I've read I love the truth of it many many of us do travel that dark road day after day all alone and then out of the blue there is a friend that totally understands that darkness and help threw it all a wonderfully written poem...P.S. you've been Hood-Winked by the poetic Bandits
