Hey there, in my tummy,
who are you?
Are you a boy, or a girl?
I wonder if you hear me talk to you...
I know you kick sometimes.
Are you like a regular child,
or are you different,
like everyone thinks you will be?
I know, it's not fair...
I'll probably die having you,
but you'll have this
and that one fact that you -
you are my print on this world,
to protect you.
Stay away from that monster,
the one who calls himself my father.
He's no good.
I want you to live a good life.
Promise me this,
even while you sleep in my tummy:
Promise to love somebody,
that good mother or father who is willing to take you,
promise to be a good child,
a wonderful little boy or girl,
and promise me that you'll remember
all the things you never got to do -
that you'll remember not meeting me,
that you'll imagine meeting me,
and that it's how it would have been
had it actually happened.
Promise me, my nameless child,
that you'll live the innocent life
that I never had the chance to live...
Author notes
I'm not much for poetry, so it's not great, even for a free verse... but anyhow, I just had to write this, I had to write something eventually to him/her...

Love It
It was a great poem, are you sure you aren't a good poet. I thought it was wonderful. You are a better freewriter than I am.
