My Aunty Hannah....RIDING ON HER HORSE

My Aunty Hannah….Riding on her horse

At the grand old age of seventy eight,
To prove to herself that it’s never too late,
My Aunty rode on a horse.

She took herself to a cowboy ranch,
Where she enjoyed campfires, barbecues and brunch
But nothing beat riding a horse.

As soon as she saw the cowboy ranch
She had to try of course.
So now there is no stopping her, she’s
galloped across the prairie, flying as a faerie,
she very nearly galloped into the Grand Canyon. (thud)

It was at that point, she called a halt, to stop the horse
From taking a bolt – and herself of course !

But she won’t stop, with a jump, skip and a hop, she’ll
Be right back on that horse.

Saddling up, she rides to work, colleagues accepting this
funky new quirk.. So when the passengers come off the plane,
She begins to action her horsey game.
She rounds them up, herds them out, with a whip
And a lash, they’re gone in a flash.

Next time you yourself disembark, give a thought to my Aunt
Having fun and larks…riding on her horse.

Author notes

My Aunty works in an airport in security and yes she is seventy eight and yes she did just go to a cowboy ranch, driving up state by herself for many miles. I am glad she fulfilled her dream of riding on a horse.

I think that this has a great life lesson in it. Actually two. One is that no matter what life throws your way, or throws you at, get back on the horse and try again. And two is not to put things off because we only have this life for a time and we need to make the most of the time we are given. Great write.
