In art it’s called… figure ground
the figure created by the space
that surrounds it.
There are also the spaces
created by windows and doors,
openings that allow movement.
There is the space created
by the absence of you from
our life and our family;
Beautiful child of brevity
had we but only known
the measure of your time
would be so short.
Creates now a ground of
greater awareness to ourselves
and to those who also loved you
and walk in the silence of the
space where you once were.

So Beautifully Written
Oh how true this write is. It being Thanksgiving all the years of this special day and spaces and areas in which Matthew walked, Yes I so silently walked in the spaces in which he too has walked. Although I felt his presence, I also missed his presence today. Yes thiss has created now a ground of greater awareness to myself and those also loved Matt.
