Fingerprints

To see your hand in mine is amazing
Because you are so small
And you leave your little fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But everyday you're growing
And soon will be so tall
That all these little fingerprints
Will be difficult to recall
But I know that your hand will always be there
Even when I'm old, to catch me when I fall
You were an angel sent to me from God
And are precious gift to all

Your fingerprints are forever on my heart!

Isnt it amazing how when a baby makes spills and fingerprints its a magic moment on the heart? Makes one wonder why its so bad when we get older! Seriously though very nice tribute to your baby boy! You have a big heart and your son is going to grow up to be such a better person since he had you to watch over him! You are a great mom and a great person too! Dont let that slip your mind!

This is awesome.I don't however think it is a sonnet, but that does not really matter here. The emotions you feel are tangible and I know the feelings you have conveyed very well. Thank you for entering and congrats on your son Jaiden. I have a friend and her sons' name is Jaiden as well

    Yes, They Grow So Quickly

and you will enjoy every minute of it. Okay maybe not every minute. LOL
Your poem is a wonderful read. The rhytmic flow, itself draws you in to the message. My teenage daughter is also expecting her first. However she is 3 years your junior.
We are all looking forward to a January birth here. So it makes for some interesting times, to say the least.
Good lck in all your endeavors and thanks for sharing this glimpse into your life.

    how beautiful!!!!

This was an incredible write - one I can imagine being printed and framed for nursery walls. Parents to be would certainly pay for this - I would.
    I love it!!!!
Congratulations on both a brilliant poem and your new son.
