Lonely Black Dove

Missing image
Black and white rainbows with shades of gray
are all I see on this mournful day.
The lonely black dove magically sings,
her mystical tunes carried on the winds.

Suns of deep sable, gales of ice,
horror will only call you twice.
Once to barter for purity's soul,
next for payment, collected whole.

Acid rain with smoldering clouds,
demons are coming in their crowds.
So go, take your place on your throne,
surrounded by hell, fire and brimstone.

Your heart you pledged to the devil himself,
just so you could live a life of wealth.
The devils bride, hells new queen,
you see all that was, has ever been.

So yes, you got it, you were rich,
and payback is going to be a bitch!
Eternal slumber is not an option,
your after life is rancid, rotten.

Heed my warning, heed it well,
NEVER cast a black magic spell.
But if into the abyss you do fall,
you will hear the black doves call.

Interesing analogy for a black dove and magical evil spells. The last four lines tell the whole story...

    return the favor?

I love the wording and images in this! And the title goes great with it!
And you're right - the devil will only call twice...once to take your innocence and then again to extract payment.
Well done!! I really like this!
Congrats on the well deserved Gold!
    best wishes in this contest.

This poem goes so well with the picture!

    My favourite part:

"The lonely black dove magically sings,
her mystical tunes carried on the winds."

That is just so sorrowfully mystical and eerie. I love that line.
The first stanzas sound beautiful to me but the ending goes a bit rushy and sounds really vengeful. Not that it's a bad thing.. I just think you should've portrayed the anger a bit better. But other than that, this is a great poem and I really enjoyed reading it!

    Blessed Be,

This was a very enjoyable piece to read

    I loved the stanza:
"So yes, you got it, you were rich,
and payback is going to be a bitch!
Eternal slumber is not an option,
your after life is rancid, rotten."

    and the lines:
"The lonely black dove magically sings,
her mystical tunes carried on the winds."

Although they didn't rhyme as well as the other lines, I thought they were very well written.

    Good luck in the contest!
