This is not her con test
At the top she said so
It could be a pro test
For those who write the shows
Were it not for this tic
In the nerve of his thumb
He has to hide his wit
And act like he is dumb
For he will hit that bar
At the end of a word
Try not to go too far
For it flits like a bird
Tics at times can be bad
Some times this makes him mad.
Author notes
Back to basics for the polysyllabic
antidisestablishmentintarianism
I feel better now.

Patience is a virtue, as is the tender touch. it applies to all things, It sounds very much like my keyboard,
Which is faster, the hand or the eye??

Thank you Carrie
For the first 50 years of my life; I paid little attention to poetry. With a name like Robert Burns; I said, 'maybe one day'. So based on your description of Shel`s style; I came up with "Space".The thumb ailment is fiction and has nothing to do with my recent TIA(minor stroke) on medication and enjoying a complete recovery. I am glad you enjoyed my work which I wrote while drowsy, after work just before bed. Good Night Bob 42 -
I was a little on the drowsy side as I read this the first time, so when my tired mind finally clued in on the word plays, I snickered to myself and wondered who played the muse for this piece (not me, I hope
). I enjoyed the subtle humor of the poem very much. Thanks so much for entering my contest!
