Tears

A drop of sweetness often lies
hidden fast in beauties eyes
which stays unseen and still unclear
until it falls in one soft tear
and tells love of the heart beneath
which to another it will bequeath
and with a moments tenderness
to all the world its loves confess.
Your eyes sweetness I know well
blue as the pure cold ocean swell
and strong as the waves upon the shore
when land and sea make loving war.
I do not need a single tear
to show my love is still held dear
for more is said by your strong gaze
than poets could in all their days
speak out in verses such as this,
the rest is saved but for a kiss.
