Throw Away Children

A throw -away child

Does not dream sweet dreams

Huddled between

Thin dirty sheets

 A throw -away child

Endures each day

In listless empty childish play

… hiding secret wishes

A throw -away child

Shields a tender heart

Grimly held together, apt to fly apart

Because loneliness fills everyday …

With both visceral and psychic pain

And demoralized flesh often will decay

...when no one listens

A throw- away child

Has empty eyes

Knowing more of evil

Then most adults realize

Anger slices them apart inside

... paring innocence away

Who will speak for the weak

When they have no say?

How can we allow children

To be mistreated this way?

Who of us will take a stand ... and make the whole world listen?

    Thank you for your entry

This is the picture we need to paint in everyones mind so that they will stand up and do something. Our children should never be throw away. We need to protect them.

Good luck, I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.

    God Bless
    Tammy

Why thank you so much for your kind words! I am appalled that children in this world suffer as they do. Thanks for reading my work.
