Each morning as the penitent dawn breaks,
Oh avarice, oh envy sin and pain,
Your wretched eyes, just glaring with disdain,
So softly snicker, thus gibing me awake.
Your libel, slander, calumny, and lies,
Disseminate to all your wicked friends,
Now gluttony and anger Satan sends,
And more will join before my spirit dies.
So shoot me, strike me, smite me down,
To live is not just for your poignant game,
Without the silent peace it's not the same.
I am no saint. Remove the thorny crown!
Oh avarice, oh envy, sin and pain,
Your wretched eyes, just glaring with disdain.

Strong rhyme, very cool use of phrasing and vocabulary. It's very much a tortured soul kind of piece, that feels a little too antiquated for my tastes, but despite that, I found myself really enjoying this. Sin's not so bad, ya know
Thanks for entering. It's nice to read rhyme that doesn't suck lol
