I had a dream just last night
Filled with magic, a wonderful delight
I was back in my childhood home
Winter time then was very well known
There was snow piled up all around
It looked like it had spent days falling down
I was happy that the roads were all clear
Not a patch of ice or bit of snow lingered near
It was that happy time of year
When you knew that Christmas was near
Everyone was jolly and full of mirth
Enjoying the season for all it was worth
Now this alone was such a great dream
No way could it get better it would seem
But the best part was still to come
For this special dream was so much fun
I went outside to have a look around
When low and behold I heard a strange sound
A tiny tinkling like far away bells
They sounded so high but it was hard to tell
I looked up for a second at the night time sky
And caught a glance of an object flying by
It took me a minute to make it out
Then I knew it was Santa without a doubt
I was so scared he would fly off real fast
Without even stopping as he flew past
But he flew up high in front of the moon
Then circled around with a sharp left turn
He was getting closer, I could tell
The excitement was so great I wanted to yell
He landed his sleigh right in front of me
Then out he got so I could see
He looked so happy, a big smile in place
As he enfolded me in his warm embrace
And as he wished me joy for years to come
I felt like I had finally earned it some
This dream made me feel so good inside
Reminding me that goodness still abides
If we open our hearts and let the spirit in
Then it will always be Christmas time my friend

You had me in tears for a moment. What good times they were! Oh well, I try to make it good for my nieces and nephews though I'll be busy working a lot of the time. Merry Christmas, even though it's a ways off. And I like the four line stanzas and the rhyme scheme you've got going there.
