The idolization of darkness
And it's hold on humanity,
As if it were some kind of Savior
Thus shows the great need to me.
As God's Light shone out of the Darkness
Brought forth by the Bright Morning Star,
To be freed from guilt, is the catalyst
Redeemed from it Damning pow'r.
The Prince of Peace has arisen
His Blood, the provision we need,
That we from ourselves may be spared wrath
If God's Word we truly will heed.
Thus to us, the Challenge is given
Shall the Light or the Darkness prevail?
O Flee to the Blest Savior, Jesus
Where evil can never assail!
Tho' men will call Light, "such Darkness"
And Darkness be to many, their Light,
There's only One way to the Father
And He, all the wrong will so right.
So cast off all of your idols
And the thing that you, from God will bar,
Accept Heaven's way, be enlightened--
Then with righteousness shine near and far!!

Wow. This right here is a master piece my friend. this was definitely amazing. And as my friend here said, you can tell that it was not forced rhyme at all. It came straight from the heart which we can see that God placed these words within your very soul. Thanks for sharing this piece for all to see. Good luck as well in the contest my friend

God Bless You!!

Thanks for your kindly Faith-filled words
Thank you for your comments. I am happy we have opportunities to share our faith and to help put an oft' too ignored or overlooked perspective on things. I have known personally the blessings and the favors of the Lord, and I desire and delight that others might also,"taste and see that the Lord is Good!"
God Bless you Friend, I would like to become better acquainted.

Whoa! This poem took my breath away! And it was a great reminder for me as well. Your words penned so deeply, from your heart you wrote this I can tell. Your rhyming scheme was perfect, none forced or out of place. Dear poet you have enlightened and reminded me to seek God's forever grace! Thank you!

Thank You
Remember,
You were the one that put the words in my mouth, which faith rearranged let the Spirit speak through them.
I was but an instrument of Divine flow, and you were the catalyst.
Thanks for this platform for discussion!
Peace,
David
