An amazing thought,
Is but the dawn of
A new era
Where not only
Does one realize
But one sees
Never again to be confused
Or hidden away by the
Oppression of your
Individuality.
But to be born again
Into this world as
One who cares
Not one who never
Thinks to stop
And bless those
Around her, for this,
I am thankful
For I never
Will know that feeling
of oppression of the mind
It is simple really
I cannot hide from greatness
Then again, neither can you.
It will find us,
And devour our souls,
So that our very being
Is complemented and
Enjoyed by those around us.

I don't know what it is exactly, but I have something against using capital letters at the beginning of every line, especially in poetry in which punctuation is used. I mean, would you cap in the middle of a sentence (with the exception of names of course)? If not, then it doesn't make sense to do it here. But, anyway... that's a tangent, and I apologize. I have to make them occassionally. At any rate, I enjoyed the poem, but felt it might be a little too society-preachy for my tastes. I would rather see something incredibly personal, verses this wide view of something outside ourselves. Again, another instance of personal preference, but was is the enjoyment of poetry but the enjoyment of specific things we like? Anyway, I'll shut up now. Thanks for entering.
