A Wise Man ...

A Wise Man ...

At first light, while Joy‘s still sleeping,
You may find him slowly creeping
Over many a faint or spurious
Volume of new poetry.
As he’s browsing, sometimes weeding,
Suddenly he finds he’s feeding,
As if some one knew his needing,
Leading him with artistry.
“This is delightful,” he would think,
Heeding thoughts that set him free,
Mysterious alchemy!

Soon his thoughts are redirected
As he ponders all reflected
As each separate law of effect
Winds its way into his mind.
Formerly he wished for meaning
Now he’d find that he was leaning
On the side of intervening -
Caught between the years and time -
Cheer the fair and radiant angel
Who awakened love sublime;
God’s sweet servant in real time!

Author notes

As a fellow poet, I can always appreciate when I find a poet that stimulates my senses to a higher realm of appreciation for how love feels and as I silently witness Ron (r)evolving, it is pretty apparent that he found just that poet that stimulates his muse! My muse took that thought to celebrate his birthday.

    I am, overcome with depth

of thought [not big words as often the unwise use ].
Joy, I would guess that you are as pretty and useful as my Joy! Lots of allegorical suggestions in this poem. I am humbled because this would have taken time and effort ~ perspiration with inspiration.
    Love, Ron.

    Beautiful...

This tribute is such a beautiful piece of poetry. It rolls delicately off the tongue like a flower unfolding. Something to be savoured, breathed in, admired.

I'm sure he will be thrilled by this glorious piece. Well done indeed!
