Shifting Vernacular Tides In The Direction Of Halogen Decorations (Metropolitanica)

It likes to watch itself eating the desert
Sucking up bad movie reels at the sound of the actor
Lacking an adequate dinner host from which to steal
Hey devil-hawk, play that note again for me!
There is one to match it somewhere in my mind
Special guest requisition forms to be filed
Archetypes to be filled and glossed in the light
-
Play that awkward note for me again!
Being silent in tongues we no longer understand
Stop before the young ones begin to dance their steps
Each one breaking themselves before twilight
Shattered like the eye of every masochistic snake
Sharpen the bones and play them like a piano
-
Well, what else can I say?
The lions will come for me when the tall grass grows
That is the real story of the leopard and his spots
No wonder we belong to each-other now
No wonder there is no such thing as mutual love

As did, I enjoy, it was a chemical equation for genius.

I imagine this poem to be set to some of mars Volta's music. It has that kind of wordplay in it. It is also similar in that it takes a while for the thing to make sense. But I enjoyed reading it a lot.
