Dear Heavenly Father up above
I come to you this day
And ask from you an Angel
Be kindly sent my way.
An Angel that could share my love
And passions bright and true
With a power and strength that can't go wrong
This is why I come to You.
This is why I fold these hands of mine
In this prayer for my own accord
And ask for this precious gift from you
Dear Magnificent and Gracious Lord.
This gift to answer a Lover's prayer
With feelings so pure of heart
For the one you deem to send to me
That I may make a brand new start.
I offer this prayer to Heaven on High
For this Angel to help me through
The days longing to love someone
And the loneliness and nights so blue.
And I promise Dear Heavenly Father
Of this Angel you'd send to me
That I will cherish her forever
As I do so cherish thee.
And I promise Lord that she will have
All the love that she is due
And that the only other that will share my love
Is the love I hold for you.

A great piece of writing.I think that sometimes saying a prayer true to the heart is the best thing to do.So simple but so hard in these sad times.Finding that one true love is what everyone desires seems so hard but for those who have found it they truely should thank the dear Lord up above every day.Thanks for another great read.

this was [fantastic] particularly taht last verse, well, i really enjoyed all of the poem but the last verse rang totally home for me - well done you!
Just one suggestion;
And the loneliness and nights so blue.
to change to, 'the lonely nights so blue' - i just found that this line ran a little too long to fit in with the general rhythms of the poem; read it aloud you might see what i mean.

OMG...This is so beautiful and wonderful...this shows how much of a sweet and loving person...it shows especially in these two verses:

The Bible says this Love your wife as you love the church. Jesus also loves to hear prayers asked of God in his name. This is absolutely beautiful and a blessing. On this earth you know no one is perfect and not one marriage will be perfect but just look at your wonderful attitude what will you attract to you with prayer and an attitude like that? I suggest with prayer God's love and a Christian heart and a wonderful attitude you will attract the same.. perfect.. no the same type person as you are striving to be i think so yes he does not want us to be unevenly yoked... oh my I went to church on wednesday Thursday Saturday Sunday oh lots of days lol my mother was Seventh day Adventist and my father Baptist what a mixed up bunch we were add illness i will tell you about it some time the thing is . you do not want future children split up that way it hurts. so keep following your heart I say and talking with Jesus about everything he is your very very best friend in this universe he will always have time to love you care and listen he does not get angry.

This is a wonderful poem about love. I can relate to the feelings that you have, but I also question asking for worldly things. God will give when we are patient, and we don't have to ask for such a love. I do pray that you see this endearment of your heart become a part of your life, but Jesus did say not to swear (or promise I assume) because we aren't perfect and we can't promise perfect love to another person such as God loves us. Just be thankful that love will come and be patient my friend. Great title to reflect the very meaning of this poem. Great write, keep it up

As a quite new member, this is the first of your poems I have read. I think it is a beautiful prayer of love and praise to God Himself.You have used simple rhyming which reminds me in a way of the style of many hymns, but it is truly indeed your own unique prayer.
Your sincerity shines through and I pick up your respect and trust where God is concerned. But also you are honest with Him as you would be with any beloved friend. You tell him of your pain and loneliness and your need for someone to love truly and who will love you in the same way.
