Lonely Instead

She cries every day in the morning
But in the afternoon, she is adoring.
She knows that some things are far out of place,
But she also knows that life is not a race.

She asked her therapist about it one day
But he said, "Don't worry, it'll go away."
Her mother thinks mainly the same,
But the girl thinks there may be someone to blame.

Her friends keep on her a very close eye,
Making sure she's not trying to slip something by.
Bipolar Disorder is what they think she has got,
But her mother has a truly different thought.

People just say "She's depressed, she's sad,"
But she personally thinks that it's worse than that.
It can't be depression, she know's how that is,
Maybe this is just an impossible quiz.

When she thinks about it she may even cry,
She needs some support to get on by.
Sometimes she thinks about dropping dead,
She never does, she just feels lonely instead.

Author notes

OMG when I wrote this I felt major depressed. Yes, this is about me, if you haven't guessed already. This is such a true poem.

At least she has a therapist, they can be very useful but it takes time to train them! Just keep talking to him or her. It would be interesting to know in more detail what Mom thinks. Moms are a lot like therapist sometimes, not always right. Sometimes right though, if you are lucky.

I have been through this myself and it does get better in a lot of ways, believe it or not
