Morning's birth steals your heat
from my side once more
Early to beat traffic and those in
too big of a hurry for politeness
The door closes on your back
a sigh brushes past my lips
I roll and pull your scent close
it's warmth a blanket
The pillow still holds your shape
as I snuggle in to be held
The sheets that embraced your form
mold themselves to mine
The gentle words of last night
float in my mind
Made more real by the smell and
heat that linger
I hold it all close until the day
demands my attention
But through the day I remember
from my side once more
Early to beat traffic and those in
too big of a hurry for politeness
The door closes on your back
a sigh brushes past my lips
I roll and pull your scent close
it's warmth a blanket
The pillow still holds your shape
as I snuggle in to be held
The sheets that embraced your form
mold themselves to mine
The gentle words of last night
float in my mind
Made more real by the smell and
heat that linger
I hold it all close until the day
demands my attention
But through the day I remember

Something softer....
What aspect of love would this describe? Contentment, cherishing the one you are with, beauty, the soft and gentle side of love?
She misses him when he leaves and wishes to be with any part of him she can until life demands otherwise.

ahhh this is sweet. Yes that warm spot is still there after your lover leaves for the day. Loved your descriptions and images. Good job and thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

Lovely
A lovely write of a night of romance. You have captured the scene perfectly

Amazing transition from what was once a force of nature, to this docile flower waiting to be plucked. I am in awe of how you can wear this mask so so well, convincing the meek to climb into your web. I would come inside just to be devoured, and F the rest. Wonderful Job!!!! This had to be a contest

This is a very beautifully written and emotion-filled poem. You did an amazing job with penning it. I look forward to reading more from you in the future. Could you please be so kind as to add me as a fav. so I could then do the same in return. God bless you in all that you do and write, and good luck to you and your poem in this contest.
