~Shall We Dance~

Fires of freedom

Drums of life

Music removing everyday strife

Dancing around the fires at night

Another time, another life

Voices silenced on the winds

Longing to be heard once again

Shall we dance this Ghost Dance

Remembering those who had no chance

Bring to life those sleepless souls

Allowing their story to be finally told...

We can find much solace in the dance and music of life. It helps to overcome or at least to bear the burden of unjust defimation brought against us.
A very good piece with a strong poignant message.

  • Yes, it is good to often dance in 'remembrance' and unwrap the 'worldly coverings'.
For me, it is to return to the place of those from who we have benefited and inherited much wisdom from.

I feel sure that our sentiment is much the same, though I believe that your poem points also to cause of much grief, within the past of your tradition. Actions of injustice can take much time to heal, but In this dance of yours I also hear a spirit of much celebration in freedom.

A wonderful magic to share, Sol

    finally told...

It is the duty of such as Tender Wolf and yourself to make sure the stories are told... To make sure their voices are not silent and to bring their memory to life. I know you will continue to do that. Well done!

"Allowing their story to finally be told" Everyone has a story and everyone has a life, that must be told...This dancce I see its' significance...Every warrior, every mother, evcry little one, every elder had an importance to their tribe...Each should be remembered..I admire how your show respect for the fallen.

    Interesting Dance!

What a lovely collaboration between you and Tender wolf... You would have to teach me. How nice two dear friends can dance together if even on the computer and in poem. And the meaning of your dance "another life voices silenced on the winds longing to be heard once again"

The lessons of life and those who are gone

We put on our best dress with Headdress with shell and metel with feathers, we put on our tinket and dance the ghost dance why the fire roar and the smoke goes up in a single line of smoke going to where they are. THe moon so bright and the people eyes glow as they dance and chant and pray to sent and bring our old one home again to beyoung the cloud to walk the lands and soon we will know we found home again.
Walk then dance and walk some more head down and then up to be proud but always remember our people died for you and I and Us the people of the Seven nations.
This is the way I was taught by my cherokee / cheyenne grandmother

eheestaha Napevomohtahe eaahtomone to your words shared with Tender honehe.

They bring much to think on. For all lost souls laid on fields of battle will never be forgotten.

Days of past echoes whispering the cries of freedom to live as they should have been, now carry in the winds of today, reminding all who remain to walk today, the souls lost in times of old.

Their stories, never to be told, leaves a missing link in history, but to have the strength and wisdom to step around the flames in song, and listen, is something we all should do to truly understand.

niaish for these words my brother.
