Thrust behind a clever screen,
Set up by some soul unseen.
Impress'd upon my bosom seemed,
Love and kindness all to me;
Smiles beheld by but mine eyes,
That brand so sweet, for them I’d die
A painful death,
Two purposes served,
To make it so
That mine,
Mind and breath,
Was your only beloved soul.
Then! I awoke from this drugged dream
A shattered and so slept thing.
Tricked and taught not to trust
Those I thought I so love;
When an imp lies upon their brow,
And having heard it sing and howl
Odes of a perverse theme
And behold! they were for me.
I have no one,
To love or to hold,
To blame for this despair.
Except for,
That imp and the way we begun,
Ignorance who infects the air.

wow... this is a new olde style poem that really excited the eyes and every thing... and yet I feel it is a little unorganised. I'm sorry, but know that - as usual, in your unusual way - I thoroughly enjoyed this. Beautiful work.
