Autumn Twilight

The hills and trees dream and coalesce
Sleepy in the gentle evening
yet still awake in green awareness
Of the night to come.
The hills in velvet verdure
draw across their flanks
a flimsy mist
to shape their rest
until the morning sun assumes its zenith.
Each single tree stretches into dark
extending its lone reach
in tentative touch.

Just beautiful, the imagery unfolded casting an air of gentle, soothing flow bathed in 'flimsy mist' and loved 'dream and coalesce' 'to shape their rest', LIb x

How beautiful to extend to me

a poem in the Autumn twilight. In the sub-tropics, twilight soon becomes darkness, so I shall pretend that it is "Autumn Afternoon".
You have written me a dignified, stately and nature-laden poem that I shall treasure. Ron.

Hallo granddaughter Linda and thank you for your lovely comments. I'm just about getting back into my stride after a fragmented year, so it's really great to have a 'family' member read this. Shall be returning to your poems and others very soon. I've missed being around. Be well, now. love, grams.

What a beautiful poem you have written here. You painted such wonderful pictures with words of nature, but at the same time I was reading about the Autumn Twilight in a person's life, before it becomes really dark... Splendidly done. I love it and I am sure Ron loves it too. Anna.
