To A Father From His Daughter

I never really had
many positive male models.
The man I called Dad,
to be frank, is a downright ass.

I don't remember how we met
but the important thing is we did.
You took up the role
out of love and not obligation.

Your advice is wise and sound.
More than a friend, you are a confidante.
My only regret,
we don't spend enough time talking.

    I am sorry! However,

if I were a cake you could not have me and eat me!
Thank you, Serena. I am happy to be your Winkling Dad.
Thank you for the poem of genuine feeling. Ron.

So true, Ron is like a father to all of us. He helps as much as he can, but unfortunately there are so many poets who need his attention. You described Ron very well.

    Good

This is a beautiful poem, laid out well and described with feelings written from the heart and edited by the soul. The words you used to make your feelings come alive are an eloquent tribute to your friend. The magic that exist in your life is personified in the closeness you feel with this loving friend who willingly took up the role of father in your life.
