Why I Write

You ask me why I write
And the answer is this
To express myself in a brand new light
No one can touch my words
And try to make it their own
Because I wrote these words
I ain’t saying this to be strong
Because I already know I am.
Try to steal my words
And you asking to be punish
With a adjective, after a noun,
But not until the verb does it thing
Hitting you with a plural and make you wish
You never thought about stealing what I came up with.

Why do I write…
To tell people a story about me
Or about the love I wish I had for me
The way I fell for this one guy
And then found another to take his place
Right now I wish I could just date
Paper and pen
At least I could always count on them to be my best friend.

I write because…
There’s nothing better to do,
But let the words flow and tell the truth
Like I had sex with only two guys
And I’m looking for my third
So he can explore what I have inside.
I want him to get lost in my mind
Screaming my name just so he don’t think he gonna die.

I write because it’s not a hobby to me
It’s what I want to grow up and be
I want to be famous and let others see
How I can express myself without even looking
That deep within me.

Why do I write?
To pass the time
And one day
Y’all gonna wish y'all have what’s mine.

    Good

Writing has its anxious moments and one can experience the power and excitement of the written word when it is your thoughts that embroider the page. The author is not giving this power over to the pen, but to the writer, where the pen is her paint brush and the page her canvas to mold anyway she desires, taking pride that her message got through.
