CARA LOU by efhjr.

CARA LOU (c) Copyright 2007 by Earl F. Hubbard Jr.
(from A NEW ROAD/A YELLOW BUS BOOK of PEACE & LOVE coming this CHRISTMAS!)

We picked up Cara Lou,
in Columbus, Ohio,
standing on the corner,
listening to her radio,
in a P Coat from the sixties,
and a Tie-Dyed Turtleneck.
When she asked to come along,
Vince said "WHAT THE HECK?"

She lived on Cotrell Court,
where she took us on a tour,
by the Ohio Theater,
The Palace and much more.

We drove by an old ship,
which we'd roam on, later on,
known as The Santa Maria,
where we'd sing a spanish song.

Our stomaches had been growling,
like a tiger for his mate,
So she took us to BOB'S RESTAURANT,
before it was too late.

We devoured a GREAT, BIG BREAKFAST,
Sausage, Bacon, Hash, and Eggs,
that filled our hungry bellies,
to the bottom of our legs.

We had Virginia Ham and Home Fries,
Coffee, Tea, and Orange Juice,
Tomato Juice and Muffins,
and The Liver of a Goose,
that really was the start,
of the fine, Bell Bottomed day,
when we found Cara Lou,
who's on our bus to stay.

This is the 30th piece for what will be my 23rd book and the second book in my YELLOW BUS of PEACE & LOVE series of books of which I have 4 of planned - if all goes well. As with my LITTLE STAR books - my YELLOW BUS books are meant to be read from the first page to the last like the chapters of a novel.

A lovely sightseeing visit to Ohio and it’s great to have another passenger on the yellow bus with us. I’m sure Cara will enjoy our travels as much as the rest of us do. Sausage, bacon and eggs sounds really tasty and would go down a treat right now, but I have to agree with Sunshinegirl that liver is definitely off the menu for me too. I remember the bellbottoms, when you couldn’t see your feet and risked taking off in a high wind lol. The wider they were the more they were considered to be high fashion and especially if decorated with embroidered flowers right the way up.

    Earl,

Ok, did you have to do that? Goose Liver? I can't stomach liver period! Think I will stick with the ham and eggs..... thanks.

    What a great read!

    and love

This is grand and I love bellbottom pants, don't have mine any more, but back in my day, they were elephant bells, and hip hugging too, tie dye tee shirts .. still have those though.
