Be forwarned to those who sense the bait,
For easy pickings cast the wary eye
On those who have been told to lie in wait
Keen to catch what they call high and dry.
Prepare the depth and underneath it stay,
While bait for feeding needs to wait until
The shadows on the water fold away,
Fishes need to sense them standing still.
And safety first encounters such a blame,
That fishermen are guarding the concern
Of wanting first to find a fish to tame,
Will wait to catch the blighter on return.

Thank you for your entry into my contest and good luck. This is a very well written poem. The meter and the rhyme are spot on and it was a very enjoyable read.

This is wonderful in meter, flow and image. I love this, you have captured motion as well. Well done!

nicely done... I like the word "blighter"

interesting
it has more to do with the way people think and the actions they take in life based on those thoughts and decisions than it has to do with....fishing.
keep them coming.
